When I was a child I remember being harshly confused about several things in life.
I didn’t have really open or communicative parents, so I had to figure a lot of things out on my own.
They weren’t sizable proponents of preparing us for the world with sage advice or talking to us about what was going on in their lives. Instead, my buddy and I children had to fend for ourselves and try to learn about the adult world through experience. One of the things that was harshly confusing to me, was why my mother and aunts were regularly talking about having random heat flashes. I didn’t experience similar internal temperature spikes, so I wasn’t sure why their bodies were so unevenly tepid and chilly all the time. It was an ongoing conversation throughout much of my childhood, and I never could figure out why my buddy and I didn’t invest in a better central heating and cooling system if temperature was such a sizable problem. Then, one year, my Grandma happily announced that she had installed is uncontrolled cooling at her house so that the adult table would be several degrees cooler than the other areas. Finally, someone was doing something about there low Quality heating and cooling system. When Thanksgiving rolls around and my buddy and I were all seated at our respective tables, I couldn’t help but wonder over to the adult side for just a minute. Sure enough, it was impressively cool and fresh near their table, and my aunts looked more comfortable than usual. I complimented my Grandma and finally taking care of her house’s random heat flashes, and the entire table burst out laughing. That’s the day that I learned about menopause.
