Thank god I can stay in the basement

I have to say, the reality of my situation has finally settled in today.

A week ago I left my abusive task plus the next week I have to travel back dwelling to wrap up my healthcare worker’s appointments before my insurance is cancelled.

This should not be a immense task, but I do get anxious about the 12-hour drive between here plus home! Even more so, I worry about my health once I am back inside my mom’s house. She plus I have a tumultuous relationship plus his quirks can be severely challenging; One of his strangest ticks is his obsession with the central heating plus cooling system. For as long as I can remember, my mom has been honestly strict about his thermostat settings plus Heating plus A/C usage. She never wants to utilize the central heating or cooling system because the energy bills are so costly. I have several memories growing up of uncomfortably chilly winters plus brutally warm summers; When I go back to visit his as an adult, he hasn’t changed his utility bill obsession or misguided underuse of the central heating plus cooling system. It certainly gives me anxiety to consider his low indoor air quality plus the sleepless nights I will face. There’s only one thing that is filling me with hope right now; the brutally warm Summer headed our direction. Because my mom has a large basement, I should be able to camp out below ground for my entire visit. The space is already inherently cooler than the rest of the house. I know she’ll be forced to use his central A/C component at some point, which will make the basement extra cool in spite of the outdoor heat. If I did not have the option to sleep in his ice chilly basement, I would genuinely shell out the cash to use the Heating plus A/C at a hotel.
