Made fort for extra warmth

I can’t be the only adult who is severely sleepy of the same old same old New Year’s Eve celebration, then every year I feel like I shell out a ton of currency to go spend time in an luxurious bar, then just walking into the establishment will cost at least $50 and I spend the rest of the night waiting in line trying to get drinks to make the cost worthwhile! Meanwhile, I’m dressed and severely uncomfortable clothing and shivering as I attempt not to fall over in high heels, however if you ask me, New Year’s Eve is a total drag! That’s why, this year my buddy and I did not even bother trying to keep up with the proper New Year’s crowd, however rather than having a difficult night, my friends and I decided to stay in and to build the best fort my buddy and I could.

  • My buddy and I got out as several blankets as possible and started constructing a big building inside the living room! Not only was the fort a ton of fun, but my buddy and I realized that it had an additional merit.

It turns out, our fort absolutely saved us some currency when it came to energy expenditure in the apartment, however as my buddy and I were hanging out, my buddy and I suddenly realized that the temperature within the fort was at least 10 degrees warmer than the rest of the apartment. The air vent in the living room was positioned directly inside of the fort. The boiling air was being trapped inside and creating a nice, boiling tent effect. After only a few minutes in this boiling fort, my buddy and I were able to turn off the central heat entirely. My buddy and I spent the entire night camping out by candlelight and existing without any modern temperature control. After this experience, I’m tempted to leave my fort up and decrease my energy usage everyday.
