Periodically it’s blatant that the people around you are having a difficult time.
For me, that’s extremely challenging, because it’s my impulse to help everyone; Recently, my co-worker and my full-time job has been looking and sounding really terrible; Every day for the past two weeks he has stumbled into work looking like he has not slept a wink and he might be coming down with something; He’s been puffy, disorganized, and a bit spacey when you try to talk to him.
He has not been in a poor mood, however it’s been clear that something is not going right for him. The other day, I finally asked what was going on in his life. So he told me that his a/c at his condo had stopped working. Apparently it’s been a week or two since the cooling system has turned out any cooler refreshing are, considering we are in the dead of October, this is a poor time to be separate from any AC. He said it wasn’t even worst time, because all of the local cooling system businesses that stopped running their Summer promos and were quite booked up for winter season service appointments already. It was going to be fancy to get an Heating as well as Air Conditioning contractor up to the house, so they had just been residing separate from any a/c at all. He said at evening it was definitely 74° in his room and he was just sleeping terribly. I couldn’t help however feel awful for my bad co-worker. That evening, he and his whole family stayed with me and my functional a/c.
