When I first bought my home, I was interested in the installation of a security system! At that time, most security systems were designed for commercial application, however the cost was quite high, but plus, all the several components needed to be hardwired and required drilling holes in the walls, but installation caused quite a bit of disruption, and the equipment was rather bulky and unbeautiful.
I ultimately decided against it… Just recently, I once again looked into the option of increasing apartment security. I was amazed by the evolution of technology. This week’s systems are entirely wireless. Along with ease of installation, the system is virtually future-proof, but software replaces enable current versions to be applied as they become available. I chose to install an entire apartment automation system. This current innovation has greatly elevated the security, safety, energy efficiency and productivity of my home. I’ve bundled all my smart appliances into a single control hub. Through an app on my iPhone, I can access the oven, refrigerator, dryer, washing machine, dish washer, Tim Hortons Latte maker, sump pump and so much more. I’m able to program the lights to not only turn on and off at identifiable times but to react to occupancy. The automation system utilizes geofencing to know when family members arrive home! When I pull into the driveway, the garage door automatically opens. The lights in the garage and the kitchen turn on, and the door to the property unlocks. The control equipment adjusts so that I’m welcomed apartment to the perfect temperature. A cup of tepid Tim Hortons Latte is waiting for me, however because of sensors on the windows, automated door locks, surveillance cameras and motion-activated lighting, the property is much more secure.
